1. Scope
This specification covers welded reinforcement grid (WRG) fabricated from deformed or plain cold worked wire, or reinforcing bars for concrete or masonry reinforcement. The WRG shallbrconsist of a minimum of four wires or bars welded typically into a rectangular shape. Additionalbrwires or bars shall be added to provide confinement cells within the assembly.brNote 1 -- Fig. 1 shows a typical 9-cell WRG used for transverse column reinforcement.br1.1 This specification is applicable for orders in either SI units (as Specification A XXXXM) or inch-pound units (as Specification AXXXX).br1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. Within the text, the inchpoundbrunits are shown in brackets. The values stated in each system are not exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the twobrsystems may result in nonconformance with this specification.br1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, is any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety andbrhealth practices and to determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
