1. Scope
1.1 This test method covers procedures for the routine testing of individual precast concrete pipe where a maximum leakage limit is specified.
1.2 Tests described in this standard are to be used at the point of manufacture of the concrete pipe and shall not be used for testing installed pipe. The performance of pipe meeting these test requirements and installed into a pipeline according to the appropriate installation specifications may be tested by negative or positive air pressure or by measured infiltration or exfiltration.
1.3 This test method is the metric companion of Test Method CXXXX.
Note 1 The user of this specification is advised that no exact correlation has been found between air loss and water leakage.
