Take Advantage of the Benefits
By bringing these courses on-site to your facility you save time and money. The instructors, leading experts in their field, will tailor the course to meet the specific needs of your organization. This gives you the opportunity to train your entire staff at once and to discuss your special situations.
About the Course
This course gives you an understanding of ASTM material and test standards and why they are a good foundation for the development of roofing specifications.
Learn To
- Identify key ASTM specifications and test methods used for bituminous and non-bituminous roofing, as well as associated thermal insulations
- How the ASTM standardization process works
- Utilize current research recommendations to improve roofing specifications
- Improve roof specifications by defining the limitations of current standards and how to upgrade them
- Track forces that are changing building codes and causing regulation of roofing materials and systems.

About ASTM and Sponsoring Committee D08
Established in 1898, ASTM is one of the worlds largest voluntary standards development organizations. ASTM standards have grown to be among the worlds most widely used and accepted documents. The 82-volume Annual Book of ASTM Standards (available on CD ROM) contains over 11,000 standards written by our 140 technical committees. The standards used in this course were developed by Committee D08 on Roofing, Waterproofing, and Bituminous Materials. For more information on Committee D08, contact Joseph Hugo at (610) 832-9720.
