ASTM WK20632, Practice for Marking Plastic Products for Identification in Reuse and Recycling, is based on a widely-used system for identifying the resin content of bottles and containers developed by the Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc. Pennsylvania is the 37th U.S. state to pass legislation including E2187, Test Method for Measuring the Ignition Strength of Cigarettes. On July 4, Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell signed a law that will require cigarettes sold in the state to be tested using the ASTM standard. More.
