ASTM Committee F12 on Security Systems and Equipment was formed in 1972. F12 meets twice a year, in April and October, with about 35 members attending two days of technical meetings. The Committee, with a membership of 180, currently has jurisdiction of 39 standards, published in the Annual book of ASTM Standards, Volume 15.08. F12 has 3 technical subcommittees. These standards have and continue to play a preeminent role in all aspects important to security systems, components, and equipment for security of property, life, and product counterfeit protection.
