This standard practice covers the compaction of prismatic specimens of hot mix asphalt (HMA) using the Shear Box Compactor (SBC). This standard also refers to the determination of the uncorrected relative density (i.e., based on geometric volume) of the compacted specimens at each load cycle during the compaction process. Compacted specimens are suitable for volumetric and physical property testing. Keywords
