Rationale

Task Group formed to investigate the concepts and usage of the various terms Platinum Resistance Thermometer (PRT), Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT), Industrial Platinum Resistance Thermometer (IPRT) and Secondary Reference PRT in all E20 standards. A set of clear and concise definitions for each term that appears in E344 and eliminates any confusion amongst the users of E20 standards is the desired outcome.
