New Practice for Measuring the Electrical Resistivity of Conductive Geosynthetic Products for the Purpose of Electrical Leak Location Testing

1. Scope
Conductive geosynthetics are available for electrical leak location projects. This standard goal is to propose one or many testing method(s) to measure electrical conductivity of different types of conductive geosynthetics, including conductive backed HDPE geomembranes and conductive geotextiles. The focus will be on the conductive part of the geosynthetic itself, and not the seaming or overlapping effects.
Keywords

Rationale

There is a guide for the installation of conductive geotextiles but nothing for the characterization of said products, but there are no standard to explain how to measure electrical conductivity of similar products. This standard will offer different test methods (in the same measurement unit) to suit most types of conductive geosynthetics.
