New Test Method for Chlorine in Processed Waste Water by Monochromatic Wavelength Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry

1. Scope
This method covers total chlorine determination in processed waste water by monochromatic wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence (MWDXRF) spectrometry. This test method is applicable to processed waste water samples with chlorine concentrations from 1 mg/kg to 1000 mg/kg. Higher chlorine concentrations can be determined by quantitatively diluting the sample with distilled water.
Keywords
MWDXRF; Monochromatic WDXRF; chlorine; water
Rationale

Before processed waste water is released, it must be measured for chlorine, and current technologies require a longer measurement time and more sample preparation, and have halide interferences. Chlorine is also monitored for corrosion purposes.
