Rationale

Re-cycled materials have been used in the manufacture of asphalt shingles for well over 100 years. Recycled pre-consumer and post-consumer materials are currently components of asphalt shingles available in the marketplace. This improvement recognizes the importance of conserving material resources, sustainability and circularity. It stipulates a requirement that the composite material construction conform to the requirements of the current standard which has been in use for decades.
