1. Scope

1.1 This performance specification covers alkali-activated cementitious materials (also known as AACM precursors) that use an alkali activator to harden and set for both general and special applications. There are no restrictions on the composition of the alkali-activated cements or its constituents. 1.2 This performance specification classifies alkali-activated cements based on specific requirements for general use and resistance to attack by sulfates. Optional requirements are provided for the property of low reactivity with alkali-silica-reactive aggregates.
