Rationale

The language in Section 7.3.3 was, at one time, the only reference to allow for foam board type products as acceptable backing material for plaster. Several years ago, it was decided that this language would be better suited in ASTM C1063 and, once transposed, would be deleted from ASTM C926. In November 2023, the ASTM C1063 task group was successful in incorporating rigid foam board type products into ASTM C1063 making the language in ASTM C926 now redundant and obsolete. This ballot item deletes Section 7.3.3 on the basis that it is already addressed in new language in ASTM C1063 where it is better suited.
