Revision of D3364-99(2019) Standard Test Method for Flow Rates for Poly(Vinyl Chloride) with Molecular Structural Implications

Rationale

This is the first technical revision of this standard since 1999. This standard was reviewed by Shelia Malone and Alan Kupfer. This standard has been reapproved without revisions since then. The following technical changes are being proposed in this ballot. 1. Section 2.1, add D5947 & E456 references 2. Section 3.1, reword to meet D4968-19 requirements 3. Section 3.2.3, reword, change flow rate to grams/10 minutes, ram load from 20kg to 10kg and increase test temperature from 175 to 190°C (347-374°F) 4. Section 4.1.1, reword, change temperature to 190°C (374°F), reduce piston load from 20kg to 10kg, delete approximate pressure, increase charge from 2.15 to 7.0 gms 5. Section 4.2.1, delete 6. Section 4.2.2, delete 7. Section 4.2.4, delete 8. Add new note 3 9. Section 6.1, reword 10. Section 6.3, reword, remove passive language 11. Add section 6.5, usage of a Micrometer and D5947 reference 12. Section 7.1, adjust temperature range 13. Section 7.4, reword 14. Section 7.5, increase charge to 7.0 gms 15. Section 7.6, decrease piston load to 10kg 16. Delete footnote 3 17. Section 7.8, reword 18. Section 7.9, reword 19. Delete table 1 20. Section 7.11, reword 21. Section 7.12, reword 22.
