Rationale

Following HECC’s recent research on used helmets and after attending the recent USA Hockey meetings, it has come to HECC’s attention that many players are attaching team stickers and numbers to their helmets. A survey of over 600 used hockey helmets found that approximately 25% of them had some type of label attached to them. Based on current ASTM requirements, this is strictly prohibited and would void the certification. In an effort to allow players to attach certain labels to their helmets, revisions will be proposed to Section 17 of F1045.
