Rationale

Because of required curing time differences the current Group HC designation for Pozzolanic Hydraulic Lime mortars may not be practical. Following thorough review and discussion by the Task Group, we would like to created a new group designation of “PHL” for this blended binder material, giving it its own group designation due to the relative uniqueness of this artificial blend of lime and pozzolan binder materials with up to ten percent cement allowed.
