Rationale

The rationale for the revision is primarily to add the new performance requirements below to sections 11 and 12: • The viewport shall remain attached to the shield after each viewport fastener shot. • After each shot on a shield test item, the shield’s carrying/deployment system shall remain functional such that the shield can be repositioned back to the intended use position in the test item mounting system. The revision also includes the addition of documentation and labeling/marking requirements to indicate shot-to-shot and shot-to-edges distances used during testing of the shield to this standard.
