Rationale

Committee C01 on Cement recently approved and published two new standards – C1905/C1905M, Specification for Cements that Require Carbonation Curing, and C1910/C1910M, Test Methods for Cement that Require Carbonation Curing. This ballot item proposes to add the C1905/C1905 cements to the list of allowable cementitious materials under section 4.1. Cements that require carbonation and that meet C1905/C1905M were recently added during the last balloting cycle to the list of allowable cementitious materials in C936/C936M, Specification for Solid Concrete Interlocking Paving Units and C1782/C1782M, Specification for Segmental Concrete Paving Slabs. Now that C1944/C1944M-24 has been published as a new standard, this ballot item proposes to add the C1905/C1905 cements to the allowable cementitious materials list so that is consistent with C936/C936M and C1782/C1782M.
