Rationale

ASTM C233 as well as many other ASTM Standards and Specifications require the use of ASTM C150 Type I or Type II cements. In the past two years many cement producers have stopped producing C150 Type I, I/II, and Type II cements and started producing ASTM C595 Type IL blended cement. As a result many testing laboratories do not have access to Type I, I/II, or Type II cements. ASTM C233 is adding language to allow the use of ASTM C595C595 Type IL blended cement. We are also updating the reference to ACI 211.
