Rationale

The ILS study for D8288 Standard Test Method for Comparison of Metalworking Fluids Using a Tapping Torque Test Machine has been finished, so add study to standard and ballot for approval. Seventeen labs each measured the refractive index, average torque and efficiency versus a reference fluid for ten samples (five samples in duplicate; all coded for anonymity). Each sample result for the efficiency and average torque were the average of five replicate runs.
