ASTM WK92287

Revision of F2291-24 Standard Practice for Design of Amusement Rides and Devices

Rationale

When referring to the axial direction of acceleration, the F2291 standard consistently applies the terms “Eyes Up”, “Eyes Down”, “Eyes Front”, “Eyes Back”, “Eyes Left”, and “Eyes Right”. Despite the common usage in the standard and industry, the term is not explicitly defined in the standard. As such, this ballot proposes language addition of the terms “Eyes Up”, “Eyes Down”, “Eyes Front”, “Eyes Back”, “Eyes Left”, and “Eyes Right” to section 7.1.3.
