Rationale

This work item is to revise the master terminology standard and to create an additional appendix, Appendix X2 (non-mandatory), titled Terms and definitions that have been deleted from ASTM E30 standards. Sometimes, when published ASTM standards are updated or modified, certain terms and definitions that were in the previous version of the standard do not appear in the later version of the standard. Such terms and definitions will be moved editorially to Appendix X2. Many previous versions of standards are still in use and may continue to be referenced in other ASTM standards. Previous versions of standards are available from ASTM.
