ASTM WK93129
Revision of F1743-24 Standard Practice for Rehabilitation of Existing Pipelines and Conduits by Pulled-in-Place Installation of Cured-in-Place Thermosetting Resin Pipe (CIPP)
Rationale
In accordance with requirements for the development of building codes which include the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC), and the critical role of standards referenced in these codes related to the building regulatory process, standards must be clear, direct, and enforceable. This revision of Practice F1743 removes the use of non-enforceable permissive language to meet the requirements for (continued) inclusion as a referenced standard within these model codes. The current development cycle for the model codes require compliance before March 2025. Withdrawn standard ASTM D1600 will also be removed within this modification.
