New Practice for Calculation of Flow-Weighted Event Mean Concentration from Time-paced Samples

1. Scope
Standardizing the calculation method for coupling hydrograph and pollutograph data to (1) determine aliquot volumes to mix a flow-weighted composite sample from discrete samples; and (2) calculate a flow-weighted EMC from laboratory analysis of discrete samples (i.e. from the pollutograph).
Keywords
event mean concentration; flow-weighting; pollutograph; stomrwater; water quality; automatic sampling
Rationale

Flow-weighted event mean concentrations (EMCs) are the "gold standard" for SCM/BMP water quality performance analysis; documentation on what is "flow-weighted" is limited to narrative description. This standard will establish a consistent quantitative flow-weighting procedure.
