ASTM WK93177

Reinstatement of E2784-10(2015) Standard Test Method for Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Handwash Formulations Using the Paper Towel (Palmar) Method of Hand Contamination (Withdrawn 2024)

Rationale

Re-Instatement of Standard with revision of terminology section to Terminology E2784. Rationale: This ballot item proposes to reinstate and update E2784. During the period 2008 through 2010, ASTM Subcommittee E35.15 reviewed all of the definitions found in Standards under the Subcommittee’s jurisdiction. Although the normal process is to first ballot revisions in Standard Methods, Practices, Definitions, and Guides; and then to ballot revisions in the Terminology Standard, each term included in E2765 was debated and approved as an individual E.35.15 (and subsequently E35) ballot item. Consequently, definitions as they appear in E2765 reflects E35 consensus. Due to time limitations, this standard was withdrawn as an active standard. This ballot item proposes to harmonize definitions listed in E2784 with those in E2765 and reinstate the past method as is.
