New Specification for WPPO for Plastic-to-Jet processing

1. Scope

Provide test data of WPPO with varying feedstock composition to show properties, composition and presence of contaminants. Prove compliance of proposed WPPO test data to PTJ-SKA processing. Provide data to prove robustness of WPPO testing with proposed ASTM or other methods. Propose a specification for WPPO for PTJ processing to be balloted within ASTM to a new standard.

Rationale

ASTM Subcommittee D02.J06 "Synthetic Aviation Turbine Fuels" is currently preparing a specification for Synthetic Jet Fuel Component from Waste Palstic Pyrolysis Oil as feedstock. Within ASTM there is no standard available for specifying Pyrolysis Oil from Plastic feedstock. D02.J06 requires such a specification for characterization of the feedstock for PTJ (Plastic-to-Jet) processing.
