Rationale

The product standards within Sections 2 and 3 of subcommittee A01.22 generally lack specificity with respect to allowable heat treatment temperature variaton and furnace temperature uniformity. To address this issue Sections 2 and 3 decided to amend the General Requirements standards A960 and A961 so that all referenced product standards would be affected. The proposed paragraph to be added to each standard is essentially the same wording as in A788. Standards cited in the proposed additional paragraph are proposed to be added to the list of referenced standards if they are not already included.
