1. Scope

This specification covers requirements, test methods, materials, and marking for glass fiber reinforced polypropylene (PP-GF), open bottom, buried chambers of corrugated wall construction used for collection, detention, and retention of stormwater runoff. Applications include commercial, residential, agricultural, and highway drainage, including installation under parking lots and roadways.

Rationale

There are currently standards for non-reinforced polypropylene (PP) chambers (F2418) and closed-cell cellular PP chambers (F3430). Neither of these covers glass fiber reinforced PP (PP-GF), which has different material requirements, target stress levels, and stiffness values than those covered by the current standards.
