New Test Method for Sequential Column Percolation Extraction of Mine rock with Meteoric Water and/or Water of Interest

1. Scope
1.1 This test method provides a procedure for the sequential column percolation extraction of mine rock to determine the potential for dissolution and mobility of selected constituents in meteoric water. 1.2 This test method describes a procedure for performing sequential column percolation extractions. It does not describe all types of sampling and analytical requirements that may be associated with its application. 1.3 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. The values given in parentheses are provided for information only and are not considered standard. 1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. 1.5 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.
Keywords
MWMP; Meteoric Water; Column; Sequential; Mine Rock
Rationale

This proposed standard is needed in support of assessing the percolation and mobility of mine rock constituents. This method is intended for geochemical applications to derive quick geochemical data needed for environmental assessments. This proposed standard can also be used to predict humidity cell testing for the first few weeks…..
