New Practice for Analytic Evaluation of Translation Quality

1. Scope

The standard will focus on metrics for translation products (such as target texts) but will also apply to metrics for translation processes and projects. Metrics developed within the framework of the standard will be primarily analytic but can also be holistic. The framework will apply to multiple sectors, including government, commerce, and academia, at any stage of multilingual document production for a number of purposes, including acceptance testing and feedback for improvement. The framework will not apply to interpreting services.
