ASTM International Committee E01 on Analytical Chemistry for Metals, Ores and Related Materials has presented its Ted Linde Leadership Award to Daniel Geist. Geist is director of operations at Analytical Reference Materials International, part of LGC Standards, in Manchester, New Hampshire.
Geist has been an ASTM member since 2006. He plays an active role on multiple E01 groups, holding leadership roles like chair of the Subcommittee on Fundamental Practices and secretary of the Subcommittees on Terminology/Editorial and Long-Range Planning. Geist also served as secretary for the E08 main committee for three separate terms.
A graduate of Regis University, where he received bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and biology, Geist also completed graduate courses in materials science at the Colorado School of Mines. In his current role, which he assumed in 1998, Geist oversees a Certified Reference Materials Program, developing metal reference materials for chemical testing. He previously worked as a quality engineer at Lockheed Martin Astronautics.
