Edward Breeze, senior engineer at Engineering Diagnostics, Houston, Texas, has received the ASTM International Lou Toporcer Hall of Fame Award. Breeze was honored for distinguished service to Committee C24 on Building Seals and Sealants and his contributions to the development of building industry standards.
A member of ASTM since 2004, Breeze is C24 vice chairman and chairs Subcommittee C24.37 on Compression Seal and Lock Strip Gaskets. The committee has recognized his service with the Award of Appreciation twice. He also works on Committee D08 on Roofing and Waterproofing.
Breeze was a principal engineer at Engineering Diagnostics from 1995 to 2007, and rejoined the company this year after a stint as principal engineer at EDI Building Consultants, also in Houston. In his current role, he performs remedial design for commercial, residential and institutional facilities to resolve building envelope, corrosion and load-related distress.
Outside ASTM, Breeze is a member of the Glass Association of North America and the Masonry Society. He holds a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering, structures, from the University of Texas.
